FUNCTIONAL IMPRESSION PROCEDURE FOR DISTAL EXTENTION CASES EMPLOYING ALTERED CAST TECHNIQUE- A CASE REPORT
Sidhant Sudan, V.K. Sudan
Edentulousness falls in a special category among the various conditions of dental origin. Tooth loss is the dental equivalent of mortality. The awareness and demand for quality of dental treatment is relatively increasing in recent generation and more so, as far as aesthetics are concerned, along with other functions of the prosthesis. In treating partially edentulous mouth, it requires more attention, principally for esthetics, in design. In an era of implants and fixed prosthesis, removable partial dentures are still a treatment of choice for a wide range of patients and clinicians. Removable partial denture treatment is considered a viable option to replace missing teeth as inexpensively as possible.
