Side effects of TRUS was also recorded. Results: Age group 20-40 years had 20 and 40-60 years had 28 patients. The difference was significant (P< 0.05). Complications seen with TRUS were haematospermiain 2, fever in 1, urosepsisin 1, rectal bleeding <2 days in 3, prostatitis in 1 and epididymitis in 1 patient. The difference was significant (P< 0.05).TRUS had specificity of 85.2%, sensitivity of 95%, PPV of 98% and NPV of 56%. Gleason gradingwas indolent well-differentiated tumour seen in 32, intermediate risk in 12 and clinically aggressive in 4 cases. The difference was significant (P< 0.05). Conclusion: USG is efficient in detection ofprostate cancer.
