Richa Panda, Nagaveni S Somayaji, Jagadish Prasad Rajguru | |
Peri-implant mucositis is defined as a reversible inflammatory reaction in the soft tissues surrounding an implant. Peri-implantitis is an inflammatory reaction with loss of supporting bone in the tissues surrounding an implant. The overall frequency of peri-implantitis was reported to be 5% to 8% for selected implant systems. Its prognosis will be contingent upon early detection and treatment of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Key words: Implant, Peri-implantitis, Treatment |
