Probiotic Era- An immunostimulatory kick to your salivary IgA levels

Probiotic bacteria or friendly bacteria have created increased awareness within oral health care as a complementary way to prevent diseases caused by the oral microbial flora.They have shown to enhance the production of Salivary IgA levels. SIgA has shown an immunological control over dental caries by preventing adherence of cariogenic microorganisms to hard surfaces and inhibiting the activity of glucosyltransferases. Key words: Salivary IgA, Probiotics, Glucosyl transferases.
