Patients were divided into 2 groups. In group I local pressure was applied using gauze soaked with tranexamic acid at 250 mg per 5 mL and in group II (control) local pressure with gauze without tranexamic acid was used. Complications were recorded. Results: Hemocritic value in group I was 48.2 and in group II was 41.4. The difference was significant (P< 0.05). Platelet level in group I was 86.5 and in group II was 64.2, INR was 1.58 in group I and 1.76 in group II and PTT ratio was 2.42 in group I and 2.31 in group II. The most common complication was excessive bleeding seen in 7 in group I and 2 in group II, delayed healing 4 in group I and 2 in group II and shock 2 in group I and 1 in group II.
